This Sedum is the Autumn Joy variety. It’s a wonderful plant for many reasons. It has a long growing season. During the season it grows and changes, adding continual interest in the garden.

As you can see in the picture taken on March 16th, 2022, these pop up in early spring as ground clusters.

They will continue to grow without needing any care. The flowers come out and provide beautiful blooms later in the season. While the flowers will dry as the weather turns cold, they retain their shape and remain for the winter.

Sedum is a large genus of flowering plants in the family Crassulaceae, members of which are commonly known as stonecrops. They are leaf succulents found primarily in the Northern Hemisphere, but extending into the southern hemisphere in Africa and South America. The plants have water-storing leaves.
